What activities were you involved in during college?
As a journalism major, I was very involved in our student newspaper, and even served as the Editor-in-Chief during my senior year. I was also involved in the choir, and served as a mentor for incoming Freshmen. Off campus, I served as a leader for the Jr. High group at my church - that was a blast!
What advice would you give to an incoming FPU student?
Be prepared to have the time of your life! College is such a wonderful experience, and choosing the right college will shape those experiences. This is a time in your life where you will learn independence and knowledge, both inside and outside the classroom. The friendships you make will shape who you will become. So choose wisely, have fun, and be prepared to grow as a person.
What do you like most about living in Fresno?
Honestly, when I was growing up I couldn't wait to get out of here. I thought, I'll move away and never come back! But, after four years of living in Southern California, I made my way back home to Fresno. Although I loved the weather and activities that So. Cal offered, I couldn't deny that Fresno is home. The people here are nicer, and the traffic is so much better! When we got married, my husband and I decided that the Central Valley is where we would rather raise our family.
